Under Our Wing Insurance
Protect your organization and save on insurance. Members of Volunteer Canada have exclusive access to Under Our Wing insurance.
This unique and affordable group insurance program is designed specifically for non-profit and charitable organizations and their volunteers, including National Directors’ and Officers’ (D&O) Liability Insurance, a National Office Package and Special Events Coverage.
CVA Credentials Discount
Members of Volunteer Canada are eligible for a discounted CVA certification and/or recertification fee of $315USD. Find out why you should become "Certified in Volunteer Administration" here!
Individuals wishing to pursue the CVA certification must meet these requirements in order to register as a candidate:
- Minimum of the equivalent of three years full-time experience related to volunteer resources management. This experience can be a combination of several part-time positions, and can include both salaried and non-salaried roles.
- Minimum of 30 percent of current position related to volunteer resources management.
- Documentation of education and related experience.
Grant Connect Discount
Access thousands of foundations, corporate giving programs, and other grant opportunities. Volunteer Canada members receive an $89 discount on their Grant Connect subscription. Note that this discount is not redeemable on grandfathered price plans.
Code Audit Tool
Access the Code Audit to help your organization assess its volunteer program based on the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement. The Code Audit guides organizations through analyzing the effectiveness of their volunteer involvement strategies and processes, identifying organizational strengths, and prioritizing areas for further development.
Speaker Fee Discount
Volunteer Canada’s Speakers Bureau offers bilingual and dynamic speakers for conferences, meetings and workshops. Members benefit from a discounted speaker fee.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) Marketing Tools
National Volunteer Week is a time to celebrate and thank Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers. Recognize your volunteers with free promotional tools mailed to you. Due to COVID-19, custom electronic resources will be provided to members until further notice.
NVW Online Store Discount
Volunteer Canada members receive a 10% discount on their purchases from the National Volunteer Week online store.
Volunteer Canada Webinar and Special Event Discounts
Volunteer Canada members have free access to Volunteer Canada hosted webinars and receive discounts to special events. Note, the ChangeMakers@Work webinar series are free for CCEC and Employer members only.

Volunteer Vibe Blog Notifications
Members are automatically subscribed to receive email notifications for new posts to Volunteer Vibe.
Members can customize their subscriptions to notifications according to the content that most interests them among the following categories: Volunteer Engagement, Corporate Citizenship, and/or Special Features.
Vote at Annual General Meeting
Meet fellow members, Volunteer Canada staff and board members each September and cast your vote at our Annual General Meeting.
Centreville Calls
Volunteer Canada hosts Centreville calls in English and in French four time a year. These calls help build our network. Centres share initiatives, issues, questions and solutions. Volunteer Canada shares news about projects and trends. Relationships are created and supported, and everyone learns.
Volunteer Centre Council
Members of Volunteer Canada are eligible to join the Volunteer Centre Council (VCC). The VCC was created to strengthen the collective capacity, cohesion, and influence of volunteer centres in Canada.
Biennial Volunteer Center Leadership Forum
The Volunteer Centre Leadership Forum brings together representatives from volunteer centres to engage in important discussions and make connections. The main objectives of the Forum are to share knowledge, practices and resources across the network and for volunteer centre leaders to connect with colleagues from all over Canada.

Membership fees can be paid by credit card or by cheque and mailed to 150 Isabella Street, Suite 609, Ottawa Ontario K1S 5H3.
To renew your membership
You will receive an emailed invoice 30-40 days prior to your renewal date. A link will be included to renew online.
Membership renewal fees can be paid by credit card online or over the phone toll-free at 1-800-670-0401 ext. 260, or by cheque and mailed to 150 Isabella Street, Suite 609, Ottawa Ontario K1S 5H3.
All Volunteer Canada memberships are valid for one year from the date acquired or renewed. We offer a 30-day grace period, after which the membership will expire if it isn’t renewed.
Refunds: A member may cancel a membership at any time by calling or emailing Volunteer Canada. In such cases, all member benefits shall cease. Refunds may be granted within four months of purchase, less a $25 administrative fee. To apply for a refund, submit the request in writing, citing the reasons for termination. A decision will be made within four weeks. Volunteer Canada reserves the right to deny a refund.
