International Volunteer Managers Day
International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMD) Volunteer Canada recognizes the importance of celebrating volunteers. But what about the people who manage volunteer programs?
Managers of volunteers work hard to make sure volunteer programs run smoothly. They care about keeping volunteers fulfilled and engaged. Volunteers who feel fulfilled in their roles are more likely to stick to their volunteer commitments.
That's something worth celebrating, too.

The theme "Helping others help" sheds light on the central role of volunteer managers: empowering individuals to create a meaningful impact.
Equally important, this theme serves as a reminder that the profession is not limited to paid professionals. On IVMDay 2023, let's explore and discover ways to express our gratitude to all those who selflessly lead volunteers in their spare time.

The 2022 theme “Many Backgrounds – One Profession – Stronger Together” conveys the strength that volunteer leadership possesses through the huge and diverse range of backgrounds that volunteering leaders come from.
Volunteer leaders come from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds and experiences.
This diversity allows volunteer leaders to think differently, find solutions together when they come at issues from different perspectives.
